Come see our implant specialist about your dental implant procedure in San Leandro, California. We will educate you on what to expect so that you feel educated and prepared for your treatment. We invite you to call Le Chabot Dental at 510-276-5533 for any questions you may have regarding your implant placement.
Your dental implant procedure will consist of two parts: the placement of the implant and the covering of it with a dental restoration. Phase one will start with Dr. Andy Le placing a screw-like post into the socket of your missing tooth. This post will be made of titanium or a biocompatible material and is designed to provide stimulation to your jaw in the absence of your natural tooth while providing a stable foundation for your teeth.
Depending on your specific case, you may receive the second part of your treatment — which is a dental restoration such as a crown or bridge — the same day as your implant placement. However, most will require a healing period of a few months to allow the post to integrate with the bone tissue in your jaw. Once you have had adequate time, we will go ahead with your dental restoration.
If you have suffered severe bone loss from missing teeth or periodontal disease, you will need a bone graft procedure beforehand to ensure that your jaw is strong enough to support a dental implant. We will go over any previous treatments you may need beforehand during your consultation.
We hope to see you soon for your treatment at Le Chabot Dental and ask you to contact us for any questions you may have.
